Celebration of Life Services for Patsy Lewellen, 88, of Mobridge will be at 11 AM, Friday, October 14, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Mobridge. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Patsy passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge.
Catherine Patricia (Patsy) Lewellen was born on August 22, 1928 in Baker, MT, to Charles and Etta (Laruhn) Case. She was raised in Marmarth, ND, growing up in the St. Charles Hotel with her parents and graduated from Marmarth High School in 1946. She also graduated from Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND, in 1947. After graduation Patsy moved to Seattle and worked at Western Union. In 1949 she married Z.H. "Red" Lewellen in Seattle. They moved back to Mobridge in 1950, where they joined the First Baptist Church. She was baptized in 1950 at the church by Rev. Eugene Gerlitz. Patsy and Red were both custodians at the church. Patsy was a strong Christian woman. She loved being with her church family, and enjoyed going to church on Wednesdays and Sundays. Patsy always said remember these four words, "Worry Less, Pray More."
While in Mobridge, Patsy worked at the plastics factory and later in health care at the Mobridge Regional Hospital and Golden Living Center until she retired. Patsy loved spending summer days at the river. She also enjoyed her gardens, flowers, yard work and kitties.
Patsy is survived by her son, Patrick H. (Nancy) Lewellen of Spearfish.
She is preceded in death by, her parents, Charles Case and Etta Laruhn, siblings, Gordon Case, Inez Case and Charles Case Jr., and Z.H. "Red" Lewellen.
Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church.
