Obituary

Funeral services for Patrick Running Hawk age 17 of McLaughlin, SD will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 6, 2015 at McLaughlin Blue Gym. Interment will be in the St. John's Episcopal Cemetery in Bullhead under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. All night wake will begin at 6:00 PM Friday, June 5, 2015 at the McLaughlin Blue Gym with a prayer service at 7:00 PM Patrick passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in McLaughlin.

Patrick Lee "Patchy" Running Hawk was born on March 17, 1998 at Bismarck, ND. Patchy lived all of his life in Fort Yates, ND with his dad Gerald, except this past year.
Patchy attended Standing Rock Community Grant Schools since kindergarten, in his latter years of elementary he developed an interest in basketball and joined a traveling basketball team called the "Standing Rock Rebels" team members are Soloman Garter, Mark Grey Cloud Jr., Montel Carlow Brayden Uses Arrow, Rashaun Archambault, Eldon White Bull, Jayce Long Feather, Dawson Black, his coaches Sabeion Garter, Lyle Uses Arrow and the parents who contribute a lot for this team; Melissa (Jayson) White Temple, Alice Black, Virginia (Richard Long Feather), Sunshine (Artie) Carlo, Missy Archambault, Angel (Lyle) Uses Arrow. They participated in many tournaments near and far winning many trophies and medals. He continued playing basketball with the Rebels throughout the remainder of his life.

Patrick was a very, kind, loving youngman who touched many hearts and lives, he loved to be the center of a good laugh. Patchy became a very skilled basketball player who enjoyed being on the basketball court and it showed through his energy and wit along with his comical persona during games.

In his high school years he decided to transfer to McLaughlin High School to play basketball. Where his big brother Gerald "Yamni" Running Hawk, III played ball at, whom he lost in 2009.
Patchy played Basketball with McLaughlin Midgets. He played at LNI's when his team the Midgets were on the air of KLND the announcer would call him Patchy. Patchy got his nickname from his grandma Salina.

Patchy will be greatly missed by all who knew his especially his uncle Butch & (Stafanie) = Butch said Patchy broke my heart Patchy broke all our hearts

Patrick is survived by his dad Gerald (Mona) Running Hawk Jr. his mother Bernalyn Tiokasin and his only child Eudoro Chavez, his grandma's Elizabeth Bruguier, Salina Steele High Elk, Pearl Hagan, his brothers Ty Running Hawk, Jayson Running Hawk, Cody Ducheneaux, Kyler Ducheneaux, Payton Tiokasin, sisters; Kalyn (Barrett) Running Hawk, Karlye (Gaeton) Hunter, Kalista Running Hawk, step-sisters; Angel (Torey) Silk, Rhea (Chauncey) Hill, Megan Follet, his aunts; Lolita White Twin, Norma (Carroll) Alexander, Kristen (Josh) Chipman, his uncles David (Stef) Running Hawk, grandfathers; Roger Steele, Joe Blue Coat, Robert Steele, great-great grandmother Anna Mae Steele.
He was preceded in death by his brother Gerald "Yamni" Running Hawk, grandpa Jerry Running Hawk, great-great-grandma Jenny Running Hawk, grandma and grandpa Mary Jane, Bernard Tiokasin, nephew Dorian White Twin, uncle Jonathan High Elk, aunt Brittany High Elk, great-great grandmother Christine Steele.
