Funeral services for Patricia F. Thares, 85 of Timber Lake will be at 10:30 AM MT, Monday, November 11, 2013 at the United Parish in Timber Lake. Burial will be at the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 6 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM Sunday at the church. Patricia passed away November 6, 2013 at Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Patricia was born on October 19, 1928 in Mobridge to Fred and Fern (Forney) Bellum Sr. She was raised and attended school in Timber Lake. Following high school she attended Northern Normal College where she obtained her teachers certificate. In 1948 she started teaching in Selby. On August 20, 1949 she married LeeRoy Thares in Mobridge. They made their home in Selby for a year before moving to Timber Lake when LeeRoy joined the Air Force. During this time Patricia worked for the Public Welfare Office. In 1951 they moved to Vancouver, WA where LeeRoy was stationed. After LeeRoy's discharge from the Air Force in 1954 they moved back to Timber Lake. In 1956 they moved to River Falls, WI before returning to Timber Lake in 1958 where Patricia raised her family. When her children got older she went to work for the Ford Motor Company. In 1975 she went to work for the bank in Timber Lake remaining there until retiring in 1988 to take care of her husband. In 2009 she moved into the Timber Lake Manor.

Patricia was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Extension Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Jaycettes, the United Parish Church and Baptist Church, where she would play piano for services. She enjoyed having coffee with friends, putting puzzles together and playing cards.

Patricia is survived by seven children, Robert (Virginia) of Winchester, KY, Debra Breese of South San Francisco, CA, Jeffrey (Luisa) of Danville, CA, Timothy (Terri Powley) of Missouri Valley , IA, Cheryl (Paul) Zinter of Aberdeen, Steven of Marshall, MN, Kimberly (Toby) Biel of Java, grandchildren, Travis and Alexandra Breese, Janice (Jason) Richman, Patricia Thares, Michael (Christine) Zinter, Stephanie (Flemming) Hansen, Arthur (Cassie) Thares, Aurora Thares, Andrea Biel, Haylee Biel and Tanner Biel, step grandchildren, Ronald Dawson, Jeremy (Julie) Edison, and Christopher Thares, 10 great grandchildren, brother, Fred (Renee) Bellum Jr. of Columbus, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 42 years, LeeRoy, granddaughter, Leslie Ann Breese, son-in-law, Scott Breese, and a daughter-in-law, Merrial Thares.
