Obituary

Funeral services for Patricia "Patsy" Knoepfle, age 74, of Herreid will be at 10 AM Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the UCC Church in Eureka. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Herreid under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. There will be a prayer service Friday at 7 PM at the Church. Patsy passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at her home in Herreid.

Patricia (Patsy) Kathryn Fuehrer was born to Freda Fuehrer on February 29, 1936 in Hazelton, ND. She grew up on her grandfather's farm SW of Hague, ND. She graduated from Herreid High School in 1952 at the age of 16.

She attended Northern Normal School and obtained her teaching certificate. She taught at several country schools. She married Raymond Knoepfle on March 2, 1956. They resided on the family farm SE of Artas. Patricia clerked at the Eureka Livestock, Herreid Livestock, and TP Kongslie Auction service for several years. In the summer of 1968, they purchased a home in Herreid but continued farming until 1973. During her life time, Patricia worked at various jobs. She purchased Patsy's Café in 1984, which she ran until she retired in June of 2004.

Her proudest moment was seeing all five of her children graduate from Jamestown College. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and baking, and doing crossword puzzles. She had an uncanny memory of the history of Herreid and was instrumental in helping write the Centennial history book.

Survivors include her children, Adam (Flossy) Knoepfle, Artas; LuCinda (James) Haak, Kathryn (Don) Bohle, Adrienne (Steve) Dupper, all of Herreid; Melissa (Bruce) Dalke, Wishek, ND; Six grandchildren, Jessica Haak, Peren Knoepfle, Victoria (Nate) Clark, Paulina Haak, Elisabeth and Carson Dalke. Three step grandchildren, Megan Quaschnick, Brandon Bohle, Travor Bohle; One great grandson Jaxon Clark. One brother Gene (Roxanne) Zimmerman, Phoenix, AZ; One sister Glenda Zimmerman, Herreid; Two step-brothers Richard (Arlene) Zimmerman, Stockton, CA and Leo Zimmerman, St. Paul, MN.

She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, and one son, Colin in 1963.
