Memorial services for Oscar "Bud" Stadel age 89 of Mobridge will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobridge. Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Bud passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Bowdle Nursing Home.
Oscar Herman Stadel was born on October 15, 1923 on a farm in Campbell County north of Java to Jacob J. Stadel and Natalie Wolf Stadel. Bud entered into the US Army on March 14, 1945. He was Honorably Discharged on October 10, 1946. He married Erma Heiser of Mound City on March 12, 1945 in Selby. They farmed in Walworth County for a time before moving to Mobridge 1955. He worked for Quenzer Texaco Station then later bought the Texaco station. Later he worked at Quenzer dealership until he retired in 1988. He also worked part time for Jenson Gravel and Carwash. He moved into the Bowdle Nursing Home in August of 2008.
Bud was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion for 47 years.
Bud is survived by his brother, Ken (Marlene) Stadel of Aberdeen, nephews, Aaron (Grace) Stadel of Aberdeen, David (Cindy) Stadel of Aberdeen, Mark Stadel of Aberdeen, and Scott Stadel of Apache Junction, AZ and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Erma on April 10, 1978, special friend Irene Beck, sister, Hilda Kundert, and brother, Victor Stadel.
