Obituary

Norman Kahl, 77, of Akaska passed away Wednesday August 25, 2021 at his home in Akaska.

Norman was born February 14, 1944 at home in an apartment complex in Sturgis, SD to Theodore J Kahl and Geraldine (Lee) Kahl.He attended school in Sturgis, but spent most of his summers with his favorite Uncle and Aunt, Darrell & Joyce Lee at Reva.  Norman always said that the best things he learned were from his Uncle Darrell.  Norman, his brother and mother moved to Soap Lake, WA when he was in the 4th grade and he graduated from there.  He came back to Reva to work on a ranch and while he was there, he got his draft notice.  He was in the Army for 2 years. When is duty to his county had been completed he again returned to Harding County and worked on a ranch for awhile.  From there he moved to Redder, ND where he met and married his wife, Debbie.  They moved to Bison in 1969 and from then until he retired in 1997, his career path was working for rural electric companies.  When he retired he and Debbie moved to Akaska where they have made their home since.

Norman and Debbie have 2 children and 5 grandchildren:  Luke (Tanya) Kahl, Pitch Stadheim, Faith and John and Brooke Robbins, Logan and Miah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his favorite Uncle Darrell Lee and his wife Joyce, his brother Lee Kahl and 1 nephew Lee Kahl Jr.

There will be a memorial service in Akaska at a later date.
