Funeral service for Norma E. Hettich, 89, of Selby, will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2015, at St. John's Lutheran Church of Selby. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service to follow on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the church. Norma passed away Monday, January 12, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Home. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Norma Eileen Huber was born on May 27, 1925, in Selby to Alexander and Emma (Wagner) Huber. Norma lived in Selby all of her 89 years. She was very proud of her German-Russian heritage and she was a dedicated member of a Germans from Russia association. She graduated from Selby High School in 1943.
She married Harold Hettich on July 21, 1946. Norma worked at the First National Bank of Selby, the Walworth County Treasurer Office and Walworth County Assessors Office. After years of faithful service she retired from the workforce in 1985.
In her free time Norma loved to read, travel to historic sites both within the country and overseas, crochet, embroider and visit her children.
Norma is survived by her children, Nyla (Dennis) Fusik, Neil (Peggy) Hettich, and Nona Hettich Vernon; Neva Hettich (Allan)Welch her grandchildren, Denise, David, Douglas, Nicole, Brian and Matthew; and her step-grandchildren, Brett and Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hettich; and her sisters, Talma Klebel and Delores Hiatt.
