Graveside services for Nicholas Cadotte, 73, of Wakpala will be at 11:30 AM, Thursday, June 4, 2020 at St. Bede's Catholic Cemetery. A procession will leave Kesling Funeral Home at 11 AM. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Nick passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020, at his home in Wakpala.
Nicholas John Cadotte was born March 3, 1947 in a log cabin in Wakpala, to Raymond and Melda (Demery) Cadotte Sr. He grew up in Wakpala attended school at St. Joseph Indian School and Wakpala High School. He joined the United States Air Force, where he served 4 years and was Honorably discharged from Grand Forks Air Force Base. After his discharge he worked for the BIA in Aberdeen for 30 plus years, when he retired he returned to Wakpala.
Nicholas was an avid hunter, fisherman, cowboy, enjoyed playing pool, bow hunting, bowling and was a PRCA Team Roper.
Nicholas is survived by his 2 sons; Jody Cadotte of Bismarck, ND, Curtis Cadotte, of Fort Yates, ND, daughter; Nikki Jaye Cadotte of New Town, ND, grandchildren; Abby, Lane, special grandson, Jacob LaBlanc, Jordyn, Violet, Zoey Wiley, Siblings, Sylvia (Keith) Bryant of Gettysburg, Victoria Roberts, of Monroe, WA, Mary Jane Campbell of Renton, WA, Raymond Cadotte Jr. of Wakpala, SD, Albert Cadotte of Wakpala, SD, Amelia Brewer of Wakpala, SD, Stella Swiftbird, Belin, NM, Cheryl Cadotte of Mobridge, SD, Valerie (Doug) Coon, of Mobridge, SD, Harlan Cadotte Sr., of Rapid City, SD, Anthony Stricker, of Wakpala, SD.
Nick was preceded in death by his father Raymond Cadotte Sr., his mother Melda (Demery) Cadotte, two brothers, Charles Cadotte Sr., Milo Cadotte, one sister, Kathryn in infancy.
A special thank you to all family and friends that helped prepare Nick's final resting place, your Love will never be forgotten.
