Funeral services for Nathan Wells age 63 of Wakpala will be Noon Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Wakpala Community Center. Interment will be in the St. Elizabeth Episcopal Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. All night wake will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Community Center. Nathan passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Sanford Health Center in Bismarck, ND.

Nathan was born January 21, 1954 to Lester and Minerva (Bone Club) Wells, he was the 4th child of Minerva's.

Nate attended Wakpala Public School & Ft Yates, he stayed in the dorms then graduated from Wakpala School. He then joined the Air Force as a jet engine mechanic out in Washington October 26, 1973 where he lived with his uncle Joe Bone Club & family and was discharged July 22, 1976. He then returned home to raise his children Legrand, Carmen & Jenny. He worked at Rath Electric. Then moved to Minneapolis with his children. Later he lost Jenny and then returned home where he lived the remainder of his life.

Nate loved his family, being outside fishing, watching his family swim & play horseshoes. Always laughing, his home was open to everyone, he helped everyone who asked. His grandson Iyan lived with him, he was his grandpa's life, he brought him back the last time he got sick, all he thought about Iyan and keeping his home for him.
Nate will be greatly missed by sisters & brothers, nephews, nieces, grandsons and cousins.

Nathan is survived by a son Legrand, daughter Carmen, siblings, Frank, Julie, Beatrice and Richard Four Bears, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Leland Tyson Wells, daughter Jennifer Rae Wells, Ken Four Bear, Thomas Wells, Josephine Wells, Becky Wells, Chancy Wells, Genio Farrell, Phillip Farrell, and sister in infancy Josephine, Numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews.
