Celebration of Life for Nancy Totton, age 56 of Promise will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mobridge. Inurnment will be in the St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery under direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Memorial visitation be Tuesday, April 23, 2019 beginning at 4:00 PM Spiritual wake service at 7:00 PM at Kesling Funeral Home. Nancy passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 at Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Nancy was born in Mobridge, South Dakota on February 20 th , 1963 to Anthony and Celestine Ducheneaux. She had one brother, Todd Ducheneaux; and one sister, Patrice (Lyle) Linderman. She grew up with her siblings on their parents ranch near the rural community of Promise, SD. She attended grade school at Promise Day School. She then went on to high school in Timber Lake where she graduated in 1980.
Following high school, she worked as a bookkeeper in a few locations including Aberdeen, Rapid City, Laplant, and Mobridge. In 1995 while living in Rapid City, she met Jody Totton. After getting married in 1996, they decided to settle in Promise, South Dakota on the Cheyenne River Reservation to be closer to family.
Nancy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards or reading a good book. She was an avid member of St. Catherine's church as well a member of the Alter Society at the Church in Promise.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Jody Totton; her children, Jade Ducheneaux, Chris (Lindsey) Totton, AJ (Tomi) Totton, Tanya (Bret) Kindle, Nikki (Alec) Whipple, Marshall (Sabra) Totton, Patsy (Cameron) Totton; her grandchildren, Kateri, Violet, Lilly, Moses, Erickelle, Rhea, Christiaan, Lahela, Alex, Gerald, Jeslyn, Kyleigh and Devin; her siblings, Pat (Lyle) Linderman and Todd Ducheneaux. Nancy is proceeded in death by her parents, Anthony and Celestine Ducheneaux.
