Memorial services for Nancy Funk, age 75, of Akaska, SD will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gettysburg. Mrs. Funk passed away at her home on Sunday, April 4, 2010. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge is in charge of arrangements.



Nancy Ann Funk was born May 25, 1934 in Pilger, NE to Edward and Metilda (Carlsen) Coney. She graduated from Pilger High School in 1952 and moved to Lincoln, NE to work at the Western Newspaper Union. In 1957 she married Larry Funk in Lincoln. Following their marriage they made their home in Lincoln until they later moved to South Bend, NE. In 2001, they moved to Akaska, SD where she has since resided.



Nancy enjoyed spending their winters in Mission, TX. She also enjoyed playing piano and being with her family and grandchildren.



Nancy is survived by her husband Larry Funk of Akaska, daughter Lori Ann (Duane) Gregg of Lincoln, NE, son David (Ellen) Funk of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren, Brian Funk, Maria Funk, and Michael Funk, brothers & sisters, Marilyn (Don) Ahrens of Davenport, NE, Charles (Hanna) Coney of Ames, IA, Donna (Norman) Firkens of Omaha, NE, and Larry (Jerry) Coney of Onawa, IA,



She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Stanley Coney and Rolland Coney, and one sister, Carol James.
