Funeral services for Milton Stoecker 81, of Aberdeen, SD and formerly of McLaughlin will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at Kesling Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Hagger officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A prayer service will be held Friday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation is Friday Beginning at 1:00 PM. Mr. Stoecker passed away March 28, 2010 at Aberdeen, SD.


Milton Stoecker was born June 4, 1928 to Gottfried and Emma (Pietz) Stoecker on a farm seven miles NE of McLaughlin, SD. Milton grew up on this same farm and attended rural school through the 8th grade. Following his education he worked with his father on the family farm until his marriage to Clara Moser on June 20, 1950. Following their marriage they made their home on a farm NE of McLaughlin.



On October 27, 1984 Milton married Irene Metzger. Milton and Irene lived on the farm until retiring in 1996 when they moved to Aberdeen, SD where he has since resided. Milton was a resident of the Bethesda Nursing home at the time of his death. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Aberdeen, SD.



He is survived by his wife Irene of Aberdeen, SD, sons Kim (Ruth) Stoecker of Sioux Falls, SD, and Kevin Stoecker of Mobridge, SD, daughters Julie Andersen of Dupont, WA, and Jane (Jim) Nadeau of Florence, AZ. Step children Marilyn (Sherman) Bollinger of Omaha, NE, and Steve Metzger of Omaha, NE. Grandchildren Sebastian Cruz and Aaron Andersen. Step grandchildren Landon Heil, Brandon Nadeau, Susanne Roche, Tim Bollinger, Chris Bollinger, and Jennifer O'Connor Eagan. Step great grandchildren James R. Nadeau, Carrie, Sarah and Michael Roche, Trevor and Libbey Bollinger and Stone Eagan. Sister Dolores (Dee) Bodell of FL.



He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eugene Stoecker. Sisters Shirley Durbrow, Violet Hanson, and Olivia Huber. Step children Les Metzger and Bondelle O'Connor. Step grandchildren David Nadeau and Jaden Heil.
