Michael passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, in Portland, OR.

Mike was a quiet and humble man that loved to laugh and tell stories. His nomadic lifestyle later in life led him on many adventures to new places. Mike was always willing to learn and share his knowledge with others. If he was not helping others, he was working on ways to improve himself.

Mike loved to spend time outdoors. He spent many summers along the Cannon Ball River swimming, fishing, riding horse and just hanging out with his brothers and uncles Matt and Dusty. Mike also enjoyed hiking the mountains in Utah and working for the buffalo ranchers. He would draw, paint, make shields and hand drums. His antler carvings were also a favorite hobby.

Before Mike became a father, he was the best uncle. Mike would take his nieces to the basketball court and playground, help them dig for worms to go fishing, and play with them on the trampoline for hours. The girls enjoyed their time with their uncle and would share stories of all the silly things that made them laugh.

Mike's children cherished the time that they spent together. The younger ones thought he was the best dad ever because he would cook them breakfast and walk them to school. The older ones enjoyed going on road trips and listening to his stories. Mike did his best to teach his children the cultural teachings that he had learned. He loved his children unconditionally and did his best to support them.
