Obituary

Funeral services for Memarie Armene White Mountain, 18, of Fort Yates, ND will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11:00 am the AJ Agard Building in Fort Yates. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 5-9:00 pm at the AJ Agard Building with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Interment under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD will be held at Messiah Cemetery, Little Eagle, SD.  Memarie passed away on November 23, 2022, in Fort Yates, ND.

Forever In Our Hearts MeMarie (Meme) was born to Ruby WhiteShield in Chardon, Nebraska on December 19th, 2003. MeMarie grew up in Morris, MN with her foster family (Argie Manolis & Family). She attended Morris Elementary School. MeMarie had a big family and many people who loved her in Morris. She eventually reunited with her mother and moved back home with her, where she attended Standing Rock Middle School. She was very active throughout school. She did cheerleading, volleyball, gymnastics, and gym. MeMarie was working on getting her GED from Sitting Bull College.

MeMarie was quiet and shy, but when she got out of her comfort zone, she was loud and bubbly. She loved music, journaling, and drawing.
Meme was loved by so many. She was such a sweetheart. Anyone who knew her, knew she was a tiny girl, but she had such a big soul.
She did not live a "normal" life by any means. Her short-lived life was filled with a lot of hardships and trauma. Through all of it though, she persevered. She had big goals for the life she wanted to live, and she would have achieved them.
We love you, MeMarie.
MeMarie was survived by her siblings, Kaitlyn Sparks (Jeff NewHoly), Spirit WhiteShield, Ethan Marshall (Gabby Haug), Bethany Marshall (Taylor Hoffer), Nevaeh Marshall (Austin Dogskin), Raisa YoungEagle, Kevin YoungEagle Jr., Fritz EagleShield, and Izlynn EagleShield. Her 6 niece's and nephew's, Zachiah&Kehlani NewHoly(Kaitlyn&Jeff), Kason J(Spirit), Asher Marshall (Ethan&Gabby), Sophia Marshall (Bethany&Taylor), and GemRuby(Nevaeh&Austin). Her grandmother, Shirley White Buffalo,
MeMarie was preceded in death by her mother Ruby WhiteShield. Her sister Courtney White Face. Great grandparents (mothers paternal) Joshua and Helen WhiteShield. Grandpas, Melvin WhiteShield, and Phillip Looking Back. Her aunts, Melody June GoodHouse, Valerie Ann Walker/Antelope, and Linda WhiteShield. Her grandmothers, Gladys WhiteShield, Delilah WhiteShield, Reta IronCloud, and Donna Red Legs. Her hunka aunt and uncle, Paula Nadine and Vincent Carry Moccasin.
