Funeral services for Maurice Thundershield, 28, of McLaughlin will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Little Eagle Blue Gym. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Little Eagle under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Wake services will be at 7 PM Monday at the gym. Maurice passed away Friday, September 23, 2022 in Bismarck.

Maurice Richard Thunder Shield aka Mogli, 28, of McLaughlin SD, made his journey to the spirit world September 23, 2022 in Bismarck, ND.

Maurice was born January 6, 1994 in Bismarck ND to Josephine Thunder Shield. He attended different schools during his childhood and teenage years. His most memorable was Pierre Indian Learning Center, where he made lifelong friends and fell in love with the game of Football. Maurice enjoyed playing football and basketball. He got his GED at Sitting Bull College in 2015 and attended college in the fall for welding. Maurice had many friends and family that he enjoyed spending time with and was very close with his little brother, Brian. He had a big heart and was the kind of person that could light up anyone's day with a smile and kind words.
Maurice was a father of 2 little girls Octavia, born in 2019 and Anneliese, born in 2020. He loved being a father and his daughters were his whole world.

He is survived by Josephine (mom) His daughters Octavia & Anneliese, Francine Jensen (grand mother) His siblings, Roxanne, Mary, Malisa, Holly & Denise. His brothers Brian, Ruben, Ohitika, Riley & Robert. Grandmothers, Grand fathers, Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.

He is preceded in death by grandmother, Vivian Archambault, grandfathers, Richard Gerry, Grand Father Richard Archambault, Leroy Jensen Sr, Elmer Black Cloud, Rolland Thunder Shield, uncles, Robert, Antoine & Ruben Jensen, Charles Gerry, Derek Long.
