Obituary

Funeral services for Matty Lou Harrison, 22 of Ft. Yates, formerly of Timber Lake, SD will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Visitation will be on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the funeral home from 4-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Interment under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home, will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Porcupine. Matty died at her home on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Matty Lou Harrison was born March 8, 2002, to Matthew Lee Harrison and Frankee Marie Veit. She was the youngest of six children. Matty grew up in Timber Lake, SD where she was raised by her mother Frankee. While living in Timber Lake, Matty attended school at Timber Lake High School. Matty lived in Dupree, SD and later moved to Kenel, SD to live with her father, Matt.

Matty Lou had a cheerful charm, a bright smile and contagious laugh. Matty was a proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. She had a special place in her heart for Roman Jay and Rollin Thunder as she had a hand in raising them. She loved them like her own. Matty had a heart of gold and a kind soul. Matty's childhood best friend was her brother, Jackson, who she admired and loved very much. Matty loved spending time with her family and friends and sharing stories. Matty held the NANNY title for numerous years before she started to work at R&B Tacos in Ft. Yates, ND for her paternal grandparents Ben and Luella.

Matty is survived by her parents: Frankee Veit and Matthew Harrison; her brother: Jackson Harrison (Josie); her sisters: Lucy (Jalen) and Alex (Brandon) Harrison, and Sasha and Jimi Condon; her paternal grandparents: Ben and Luella Harrison; her aunts: Sabra (Marshall), Joni, Karyne, Jorae Veit and Roberta (AJ) Agard; her uncles: Colt and Roy (Mikki) Veit and William Sr, Seth, Sam and Seb Harrison; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Matty was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Frank and Brenda Veit; her uncles: Ford Veit, Richard Harrison and Shailo Hollow Horn; her cousin: BreAnn Harrison.
