Visitation is two hours prior to the services on Friday, burial will be in the Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Morbridge, SD.

Martin "Honey" Webb was born at home on April 5, 1931 north west of Eagle Butte, SD on the old Webb homestead to George and Ella (Joens) Webb. He helped his parents on their homestead and attended Butte View country school through the 8th grade. At the early age of 9 Honey began working for local ranchers herding sheep for 50 cents a day. Young Martin got his nickname while working for a rancher who thought his hair was the color of "Honey" and the nickname stuck. He continued to work as a sheep herder, living alone in a sheep wagon on the open range with only the company of his horse and dog.

Honey worked as a sheep herder until his marriage to Joan Hunt of Eagle Butte, SD on March 5, 1955 in Pierre, SD. Following their marriage they partnered with Joan's
dad Jack Hunt on some sheep and began their married life, living and working out of a sheep wagon that was cold in the winter and hot in the summer. That summer they trailed those sheep nearly one hundred miles ending up north of Isabel, SD where they summered, moving each time with the sheep to new grazing. In 1957 they ventured out to Armstrong County where they were one of the first people to establish a ranch in that area. With just 3 cows and a few sheep they began years of successful ranching. His sheep herd grew to nearly 900 head before the coyotes got too bad and he decided to sell out. He then focused on his cattle herd and became known for his fat calves during branding season. In 2000 Honey had brain surgery after which he started to slow down and later his health began to fail forcing him to retire in 2009 after 52 years of ranching in Armstrong Co. He and Joan then moved to Eagle Butte where he lived until the time of his death.

There always seemed to be a few "extra" kids around the ranch, something both he and Joan enjoyed. Honey was a generous man with a big heart who helped his family and friends with anything he could until the day he passed. He always enjoyed a cold beer and a hot slot machine. Honey along with his "Partners" enjoyed fishing until the Game and Fish took his net and Joan's boat.

He is survived by his wife Joan of Eagle Butte, SD. Daughter Debra (Clay) Claymore of Gettysburg, SD, Sons Butch (Stephanie) Webb of Isabel, SD, Bogie Webb of Volin, SD and youngest daughter Julie (Brad) Young of Belle Fourche, SD.
