Funeral services for Martin Frank Jr., 87, of Timber Lake will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Burial will be at the Holy Spirit Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at 5 PM Friday with an evening service at 7PM and also at 9 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Martin passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

Martin Frank Jr. was the son of Martin and Emma Frank born on October 6, 1929 at their homestead 14 miles from Firesteel, SD. Growing up he attended the Lone Tree country school and Ft. Yates, ND, boarding school.

As a very young child he developed an illness with a high fever which Dr. Olson said was impossible to cure. His father and mother watched over him day and night applying cold compresses until the fever broke. He was left with a lifelong side effect and disability.
His father passed away at an early age due to cancer leaving Emma with 10 children to raise.

He cared for his mother until her passing at 86. Living on the ranch raising range cattle was difficult as 8 of the children were girls.
One year later he married Ernestein Meyer. Being up there in age he never had any biological children.

On May 4, 2011 due to side effects from a stroke he was admitted to the Golden Living Center, but left on June 30, 2011.
On September 29, 2011 after a heart problem and surgical procedure he once again entered the home where he resided until his passing on March 23, 2016.

He leaves to mourn his sister Cecelia Roubideauxx, Spokane, WA, Anne Vermnillion, Mobridge, Virginia McClain LaCrosse, WI, and many nieces and nephews.

Proceeding him death was his one brother and five sisters.
