Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial for Martha Raba age 95 of Faulkton formerly of Mobridge will be 10:30 AM Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Viewing will be 1 hour prior to services at the church. Martha passed away May 11, 2016 at the Faulkton Nursing Home.
Martha Raba, the wonderful Mother of: Carol, Charlotte, and Dan.
Martha was born on July 1st, 1920 to Eufrim and Katherine Ackerman Stepenenko. She was born in Mound City, So. Dak. on a farm. Martha completed 3rd grade before they moved to a farm North of Java in Campbell County. She went to the Kundert School where she graduated 8th grade. Her Parents were poor so she was not able to go to High School, and also she was needed to help with the field work at home. She did that until she was 19.
Martha married LeRoy Raba on Sept. 24, 1939. They lived on LeRoys' Dads' farm Southeast of Selby until they were able to purchase it in 1952. In 1982, they sold the farm and moved to Mobridge where they purchased a house. In 2000, she moved to the Golden Living Center in Mobridge and In June, she moved to the Faulkton Care Center in Faulkton, So. Dak., at the age of 95 on May 11, 2016.
Martha is preceded in death by: her Parents, Eufrim and Katherine Stepenenko, Sisters, Regina Ritt, Anna Thorstenson, and Lydia Stepenenko; Brothers: Otto (Bud) Stepenenko, and Edwin Stepenenko; infant Son, Darrold, and Husband LeRoy.
Martha is survived by: Daughters, Carol of Faulkton, Charlotte (Edwin) Guthmiller of Blaine, Mn. and Son, Dan of Rapid City, South Dakota. Grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Pavek of Blaine, Mn., and Rodney (Marlys) Guthmiller of McGregor, Mn. Great Grandchildren: Stephanie (Nathan) Fredrickson of Aitkin, Mn., Robert Guthmiller of Isanti, Mn. And 2 Step Grandchildren, Chad (Alicia) Chapman of Ramsey, Mn. and Paul (Jennifer) Chapman of Big Lake, Mn. Great Grandchildren: Darren and Brinlee Fredrickson, Mikayla and Robert Jr. Guthmiller, and Step Great Grandchildren: Allison and Rylie, and Aaron, Charlie, and Alaina Chapman, and many Nieces, Nephews, and good Friends.
Martha will be missed so much!!!
