Obituary

Funeral services for Marlene Kessler will be 10:30 AM Monday May 2, 2016 at the UCC Church in Mobridge. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held Sunday evening at 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday beginning and 3:00 PM. Mrs. Kessler passed away April 27, 2016 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Marlene M. Kessler was born March 24, 1941 at Long Lake, South Dakota to Arthur and Ida (Rath) Schueffele. She grew up on her parent's farm. As a child Marlene loved to riding and spending time with her pony Dolly. Often riding Dolly to School. Following grade school, she attended high school in Leola graduating in 1959. Following graduation, she moved to Aberdeen where she worked at St. Luke's Hospital as a nurse's aide. Marlene Married Jack Kessler on November 5, 1961 at Long Lake, SD. Following their marriage they Made their home in Mobridge. From 1977 to 1981 they made their home in Sidney, Mt.

After Marlene returned to Mobridge with her young family she worked as custodian at many Mobridge businesses, did day care and provided housekeeping services for many families in Mobridge. For many years she provided the custodial services at the UCC Church in Mobridge.

She enjoyed playing Softball for many years and was the catcher for her team. She loved watching her sons and grandsons wrestle and often became very animated while watching her sons compete.

Marlene is survived by her children Greg Kessler of Denver, Co., Kirk Kessler (Chris) of Washington, DC, Darin (Mary) Kessler of Lemmon, SD Derrick Kessler of Washington, DC and daughter Debra Ann (Kenny) Jensen of Mobridge, SD. Grandchildren Levi Jensen, Miles and Dakotah Kessler, Grace and Stone Jensen, Seth, Makenzie, Gregory and Eli Kessler.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Jack and one son Bobby Dean.

The organist will be Margaret Stadel, the soloist will be Vonnie Salzsiedler and she will sing "Going Home". The Congregation will sing" How Great thou Art", and "My Eyes Have Seen the Glory" and a Piano solo by Margaret Stadel will be "One Day at a Time"
