Funeral services for Marie Stoecker, age 92, of Aberdeen will Friday, October 5, 2012 at 2PM at the United Congregational Church in McLaughlin Burial will be in the United Congregational Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Visitation will one hour prior to services. Marie passed away Monday, October, 1, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Groton, SD.
Marie Huber was born March 10, 1920 near Lowry, SD, the daughter of Katherina (Jundt) Huber and Christopher Huber. She started her education in a country school. Her family moved to Mobridge when she was seven years old, where she continued her schooling. Marie married Adolph Stoecker on October 15, 1939. In 1948 the family moved to McLaughlin. Marie moved to Aberdeen in July 2002 to be closer to her daughter.
Marie was very active in the United Church of Christ where she was a member for more than fifty years. She was also a member of the McLaughlin Senior Citizens. Marie enjoyed interior/exterior painting, cross-stitch, playing cards, and was known for her German cooking.
She is survived by three daughters, Diane (Ron) Bader of Bloomington, Indiana; Connie (Larry) Sandland of North Ogden, Utah; Benji (Bryan) Locke of Aberdeen, SD, and one son Steve Stoecker of Kalispell, Montana; three grandsons, Sawn Sandland, Brian Sandland, and Spencer Locke; and three great grandchildren, Zachary, Danielle, and Rylee Sandland.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband in May 1980, one daughter in infancy, her parents, and all of her siblings.
