Funeral services for Lucille Fuhrer age 85 of Mobridge will be at 2 PM, Friday, July 22, 2016 at the UCC Church in Mobridge. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM, Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Fuhrer passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

Lucille Irene Flemmer Fuhrer was born July 18, 1931, to Emil and Cecelia (Diegel) Flemmer on the family homestead south of Akaska. She attended the Ritter School east of the present Ritter School south of Akaska. She enjoyed the old time country music stars form the Grand Ole Opry and listened to them over the radio and from records she had.
In her early twenties she and three of her pen pals went to Nashville to tour and see the Grand Ole Opry.
In the mid-fifties she was offered a job with the telephone company in Selby as a switch board operator located in the opera house. From there she transferred to Mobridge and retired from Northwestern Bell.
She enjoyed the garden club which she was a member of for some time. She also worked at the Mobridge Nutrition Site in its early years. She also belonged to the Telephone Pioneers of America which they would meet once a month.

Lucille is survived by her husband of 46 years, Raymond Fuhrer of Mobridge, Son, Robin (Jean) Fuhrer of Mobridge, grandson, Bill Fuhrer, great granddaughters, Paislee and Rylee, and friend, Kaylie, granddaughter, Toni Fuhrer, great grandson, Michael Schwan, and friend Adam, step son, Parnell (Sandi) Fuhrer of Santa Maria, CA, and their five children and six great grandchildren, step daughter, Stella Bertsch and her son, Robb of Minneapolis, brother, Larry Flemmer of Mobridge along with cousins on the Flemmer, Diegel and Ritter side.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
