Funeral services for Luci Grey Bear, 49, of Ft. Yates will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fort Yates, ND. Burial will be in the Gray Bear Family Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Visitation will be two hours prior to services on Monday at the church. Luci passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in Bismarck.
Luci Jane Grey Bear was born November 9, 1966 at Fort Yates, ND to Joseph Grey Bear Sr., and Emma B. (Twinn) Grey Bear.
She met Preston Demarce in 1983. She was married Steve Whiteman, Jr. in 1996.
She grew up in Fort Yates, attending Standing Rock Community School and graduating in 1985. She also attended United Tribes Technical College.
She worked for the Fort Yates Indian Health Services for several years in the medical records department, she enjoyed her job but due to her illness she had to quit.
Luci loved spending time with her grandchildren Tajon and Amira, she also enjoyed beading, doing crossword puzzles, watching TV, movies and NFL football, her favorite team was the Denver Broncos.
Luci is survived by her daughter Rikki Iron Boulder (Alvin), her grandchildren Tajon and Amira, her sisters; Arlyne, Marlene (C.L.), Karen, Darlene and Eunice, her brothers; Robert, Ronnie, and Joe, her nieces; Leslie, Stevi, Jamie, Jennifer, Shayla, Prairie, Kasey, Jaci, Jodi, Kayla and Kelsey, and nephews; TJ, Erik, Isiah, Shawn, Ken Jr., Rodney, Jon, Jeremy.
She was preceded in death by her son Brandis, her parents Joe & Emma, her sisters, Margery & Roberta, niece, Kimberly, grandparents; harry & Magdalene (Standing Soldier) Grey Bear, and Henry & Lucy (Red Stone) Twinn and several Uncles and Aunties.
