Mass of Christian Burial for Lois M. Aberle, age 63 of Mobridge will be 10:00 AM Monday, October 13, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 1:30PM at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 4PM to 7PM at Kesling Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7PM. Lois passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at her home.

Lois Marie was born Oct. 27, 1950, to Ernestine (Landis) and Leslie Sunderland in Mobridge, the second of two children. She graduated from Mobridge High School.

On May 25, 1974, she was married to Leo J. Aberle in Mobridge. They moved with their two daughters Kristi and Jody to rural Glencross. A daughter Suzanne was added to the family while living in Glencross. They raised their family in McIntosh and Java before moving to Pierre in 1998. Leo passed away in May 2012. She then moved back to Mobridge in 2013.

Lois worked at various jobs and made many lifelong friends wherever she went. She loved spending time with her friends and family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards, and her Diet Coke. She treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Lois is survived by her daughters Kristi Aberle (Gabe Cummings), Rapid City, and her children Meghyn and Mitch, Jody Siebrecht (Norman), Redfield, and their children Trevor, Seth and Jensyn, and Suzanne Wetz (Max), Bismarck, ND; brother Les Sunderland (Lynne), Arlington VA.; father-in-law Leo A. Aberle, Glencross; brothers and sisters-in-law , Pauline Schmidt, Willow Lake, Louise (Bob) Lewis, Manila, AR, Janice (Les) Mandernach, Selby, Tom (Diana) Aberle, Glencross, John Aberle, Selby, Joel Aberle, Aberdeen, Mary (Dennis) Simons, St. Lawrence, Harvey Aberle, Billings, ND, Andy Aberle, Glencross, Irene (Wade) Moffat, Piedmont, OK, Jerry (Annie) Aberle, Clear Lake, Kenny (Criss) Aberle, Mobridge; Carol Aberle, Aberdeen; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leo J.; mother and step-father Ernestine and Ruben Renz; father Leslie Sunderland; mother-in-law Magdalene Aberle; brothers-in-law Art Aberle and Roger Schmidt.
