Linda Carol Pedersen was born August 9, 1938 at Rockham, SD, the fourth daughter of James and Lillie (Kissner) Pedersen joining Dorothy, Rosene and Emily. Later Marcus and Jane joined the family in 1940 and 1947. The family moved to a farm near Ipswich, SD, in February 1947, and Linda attended and graduated from Ipswich Public Schools as salutatorian of her class. She attended Presentation School of Nursing and received her R.N. degree. She then worked at the office of Drs. CL and AC Vogele for a number of years before joining the Air Force in 1966, entering as a Second Lieutenant. She was at Big Spring, Texas, when she met Ralph Epperly and they were married June 29, 1967. They were subsequently stationed in Aviano, Italy, California and Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City. Linda then worked at Sioux San Hospital in Rapid City for a number of years before retiring in 1998. Linda and Ralph subsequently moved to Mobridge, SD, to be closer to her mother, sister and other family members.
Linda enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, CNN, and spending time with her relatives and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mobridge. In earlier years she did counted cross stitch and knitted extensively.
