Graveside services for Willard Leon Crowley, 72, will be at 11 AM, Friday, April 9, 2021, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Leon died February 13th, 2021 unexpectedly at Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Leon, son of Elmer & Pauline Crowley was born on May 20, 1948 in Great Bend, Kansas. He spent his childhood life growing up with his brothers and sister in Dighton, Kansas. He graduated from Dighton High School in 1966. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on April 10th, 1968 to serve his country in the Vietnam War. Leon proudly served until January 19th, 1970 when he was granted early leave to attend college. He attended college during the next 4 years at Sterling College, Colby Community College, and Fort Hayes State College.

Leon later founded his painting contracting business in Lander, Wyoming. There he would marry Katrina Asmundson to which Jay and Brynja were born. He later resided in Riverton, Wyoming where he would marry his late wife Brenda Jay on November, 15th, 1991. A few years later they would move to Mobridge, SD where Leon continued his painting contracting business and he would later become a Licensed Insurance Adjuster. As an Insurance Adjuster he would travel all over the state of SD to perform inspections and would do so until he retired a few years ago.

He was an avid story teller and would captivate the room with his various adventures. Leon very much enjoyed talking about his family and was very proud to do so. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix or attempt to fix since he was a jack of all trades. Along with liking to fix anything and everything he also enjoyed going to auctions to find good deals on various items as a hobby.

Leon was preceded in in death by his father Elmer, mother Pauline, wife Brenda, brother Ellsworth, and brother Kim.

He is survived by his son Jay (Casey) Crowley, daughter Brynja (Jason) McLachlan, brother Gary Crowley, sister Doris Iarossi, and grandchildren Kirra, Chase, Teagan, Blake, and Kade.
