Mass of Christian Burial for Leo Rampersad, age 78 of Thousand Oaks, CA will be Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at 11 AM CT at the St. Aloysious Catholic Church in Bullhead. All night wake will be Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at the church begin at 7:00 PM CT. Burial will be in the St. John's Episcopal Cemetery in Bullhead under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Leo passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at his home in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Leo B. Rampersad, Sr. was born January 4, 1934 to Pablo and Dalphine (Plaza) Rampersad in Trinidad & Tobago. Leo was a Merchant Marine from 1954-1965, he traveled to just about every seaport there was. He loved being on the ships, and later on in his life he worked for Princess Cruises. He said he loved being on the ocean it made him fell young again! Leo was also known for his cooking, he cooked awesome Caribbean dishes. We all loved his cooking. In 1966 Leo married Darlene Yellow Earring and to this union- Harriet Rampersad-Archambault, Leo Rampersad, Jr. and Karen Rampersad-Montana. He always enjoyed trips to Spokane, WA to visit his son and daughter. He also enjoyed traveling to Bullhead for the Pow-Wows. Leo will truly be missed by his family and friends. We love you daddy, brother, grandpa, and uncle.
Leo is survived by his daughter Karen (Joe) Rampersad-Montana, son Leo (Billie Jo) Rampersad, Jr., son-in-law Paul Archambault, Sr.,
granddaughters Felisha Montana, Diane, and Leah Archambault, great-granddaughters Destiny, Danielle, and Katie Red Legs, Rhianna Archambault, Brooklyn Little Dog, and Angeline White Bull, grandsons Garrett Montana, Larry and Daniel Brown, Wyman and Eric Archambault, Leo Rampersad III, great-grandsons Mika Archambault, Daven and Jayshawn Archambault, sister Jean (Kenny) Hospedales, nieces Lisa, Michelle, and Alana Hospedales, nephews; Barry Hospedales, Jade Rampersad, and very special friends Jim Wolf and Kathy Goodspeed.
He was preceded in death by his father Pablo Rampersad, mother Dalphine Rampersad, wife Darlene Rampersad, daughter, Harriet Rampersad, grandson, Paul Archambault, Jr., brother Kenneth Rampersad.
