Lavina Blanche Lawrence, 82, of Little Eagle, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Little Eagle. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at the Little Eagle Blue Gym at 1:00 pm. Wake services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm in the Blue Gym. A procession will leave Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge on Thursday at 5:00 pm. Interment will take place at St. Paul Episcopal Cemetery, Little Eagle, under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home.
Our very beloved mother, grandmother, sister Lavina Blanche Lawrence was born on September 19, 1943, in Little Eagle, SD, to Paul Long Chase and Mary Jane Lawrence and was raised by Lloyd and Rose Many Deeds.
She is survived by 5 sons; Robert (Brenda) Steele and family, Little Eagle, SD, Leon Eagle Pipe and family, Little Eagle, SD, Donel Takes The Gun and family, Little Eagle, SD, Charles (Tylee) Eagle Pipe and family, Little Eagle, SD, Vincent Makes Him First and family, Litte Eagle, SD, 3 daughters, Salina Steele and family, McLaughlin, SD, Paulette (Bradley) Clown and family, Eagle Butte, SD, Mary (Cissy) Foster and family, Mobridge, SD, grandson Lane Lawrence, Little Eagle, SD, granddaughter, Allison Eagle Pipe, Little Eagle, SD, and a special great granddaughter whom she raised and loved very, very much, Avery Alan Jamerson, 1 sister, Helima Makes Him First and family, 1 brother, Ben One Feather and family, 3 nieces, Rose Bruce and family, Anna Long Chase and family, Jacqueline Brown Otter and family, 40 grandchildren, 71, great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Paul Long Chase, mother, Mary Jane Lawrence-Kills Crow Indian, Lloyd and Rose Many Deeds, brothers, Clifford Kills Crow Indian, Dennis Kills Crow Indian, sisters, Josephine Madison, Virginia Clown, Rosemary and Julie Ann Kills Crow Indian, 1 great grandson, Landen Red Bear.
Our mother Blanche was a loving, caring, strong independent, charismatic woman. She was very outgoing and loved her community. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, and listening to music. She loved walking to her sister Helmina’s house to sit and visit with her. She loved spending time and making memories with her children, grand children and great grandchildren.
She enjoyed watching horseshoes, her favorite shows were Lonesome Dove and Bonanza. Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother will be greatly missed by many.
