Funeral services for Larry Village Center, 57, of McLaughlin, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Messiah Church in rural Little Eagle. Burial will be in the Messiah Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.

Lawrence Wilbur Village Center Sr. was born to Matilda Long Feather and Floyd Village Center on August 16, 1967. Larry was a very hard worker. He was a BIA fighter for many years and wore many hats. He made a lot of friendships through firefighting that became family to him. He attended school in his early years at Little Eagle Day School.

Larry met JoAnn Standing Crow and had five children from this relationship, Nichole Lynnette Village Center, Floyd Village Center, Lawrence Village Center III, Destiny Village Center and a son that was deceased in infancy, Lawrence W. Village Center Jr.

Lawrence is survived by his brother, Richard (Virginia) Long Feather, hunka brothers, Sid Bailey and Family, Chuck Bailey and Family, Ronald Blevins and Family, Ray Moore and Family, sisters, Estherlynn Long Feather, Pauline Long Feather, and Loretta Village Center, hunka sister, Janet White Bull and Family, his cousins Ann Bobtail Bear, Melinda Mutchler and Lila Long Feather and Family, all of his nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention by name that meant the world to him, he was loved by them all.
