Krislyn passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Krislyn Jayde Ducheneaux, Wanbli Howaste Win "Eagle That Sounds Good Woman" was born February 25th 1996 in Eagle Butte, South Dakota to Annette "Katie" Ducheneaux. Krislyn spent her first month in the NICU at Rapid City Regional Hospital and was diagnosed with CP. Sister, the name her family gave her, displayed a constant fighting spirit until she was called upon to be a Guardian Angel on November 18th 2010 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Krislyn was the heart of her family. Not only did she pull them closer together she held a special place in everyone's heart. Krislyn found the love of her life in the eyes of her grandmother Marlene. It was love at first sight. Marlene dedicated her life to fulfill Krislyn's every want and need.
Early on in her life she formed a bond with her uncle Tristan. It was as if they would communicate in a way she would with no one else. Tristan also felt this bond and became very protective of his "little sister.' You would often find them sitting together for hours and see the sparkle in each of their eyes as they would look at each other.
Krislyn was a big sister and her little sister Whitney loved her more than anything in the world. Each day Whitney would draw and color pictures to hang in her big sisters room. You would also catch Whitney trying to over on anything and everything that belong to her sister regardless of what it was.
Krislyn fell in love with the beat of the drum and the voices that sang to it, it was as if they spoke to her soul. Each summer she would attend her grandfather's sundances and enjoyed the long days listening to the drum.
Krislyn was a Freshman this year at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte High School and didn't attend school regularly, but she had been a braves fan her entire life. Krislyn especially enjoyed attending as many of her Auntie Alissa's basketball games as she could, dressed head to toe in Braves gear. Class of 2014.
Krislyn is survived by her mother Katie Ducheneaux, little sister Whitney MonReau, Grandmother Marlene Ducheneaux and big brother Tristan Dean. Also numerous grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Krislyn is preceded in death by her Grandma Great Marge Dolphus, Grandfather A.C. Ducheneaux, and Uncle Matt Ducheneaux.
