Mass of Christian Burial for Kevin Claymore age 62 of Yukon, OK, will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the Kenel Assumption Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at the church cemetery. A Rosary service will be at 7 PM, Monday at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Kevin passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020 in Yukon, OK.

Kevin Charles Claymore, Sr. was born October 17, 1958 in Fort Yates North Dakota to Theodore Strongheart and Marie Claymore. He grew up and attended school in Fort Yates and St. Gertrude's and graduated from Fort Yates High School. Following graduation, Kevin attended Standing Rock Community College and graduated with an Associate Degree. He then began his teaching career, he taught at the Head Start program in Fort Yates as well as other programs in other communities.

Kevin married Jeanette Thunder Hawk and to this union Jeremy, KC and Kyle were born. He later married Vida Bearstail and to this union Teddy was born.

Kevin felt it was important to keep the kids in the community busy and by working with the local district/Boys and Girls Club he made sure to keep the gym doors open. He enjoyed reading, basketball, arts and crafts. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Kevin loved and was very proud of his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Kevin is survived by his special friend, Marla Longbrake of Yukon, OK, sons, Jeremy Claymore of Fort Yates, Kevin Claymore Jr. of Shakopee, MN, Kyle (Ellana) Claymore of Ft. Yates and Theodore Claymore of Mandaree, ND, Brian (Michele) Thunder Hawk of Cannonball, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, mother, Marie (Fred Baker) Claymore of Bismarck, sister, Kim (Buck) Lawrence of Whitehorse, brother, Robby (Madonna) Dunn of Wakpala, goddaughter, Reggie Lawrence and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Theodore Strongheart, brothers, Richard Dunn and Rodney Dunn, grandparents, Leona and Sam Claymore and Walter and Eva Strongheart.
