Funeral Services for Kent Fast Horse, 48, of Eagle Butte will be at 10 AM, Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Eagle Butte Bingo Hall. Burial will be at the Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Family and friends will meet at the 4-mile junction at 4:30 PM Friday for an all night wake with service at 7:00 PM at the Bingo Hall. Kent passed away Friday, September 24, 2021, at his home in Eagle Butte.

Kent Eldred Fast Horse was born on Aril 11 ^th , 1973; the second of three sons, to Joyce Circle Eagle and Eldred Fasthorse.

Kent grew up on Cheyenne River in Armstrong Co and Red Scaffold, SD. He attended Red Scaffold Day School and graduated from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte High School in 1991. While in school he played football and made some lifelong friends.

After High School he attended one semester at the University of Mary in Bismarck ND. Kent decided he needed a break from school and entered the United States Marine Corp but was given a medical discharge shortly after entering due to a heart condition.

Kent returned home and worked various jobs for the tribe. He favorite, and most talked about, job was when his cousin Joe Brings Plenty was Chairman for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and he was able to travel and assist him in his duties.

Kent also loved doing ranch work. He often worked for local ranchers including Larry and Donna Mae Anderson and Rusty and Karen Pearman, where their families also became his.

Kent enjoyed spending time with his friends and nieces and nephews. He considered Kelli Louise Laurenz his hunka daughter. He was most famous with for his speggittii and his travel and history stories he would tell them.

Kent entered the spiritual world on September 24 ^th , 2021.

Kent is survived by his brothers Kirk (Rikki) Fasthorse and Terry Jay Fasthorse of Eagle Butte, SD and Michael (Tammy) Marshall; Sisters; Ardys (Bill) Jandreau, Shelly Alkire all of Eagle Butte, Amy Marshall of Mandan ND, Michon (Mark) Marshall of Blackfoot, SD, and Krissy (Ron) Black Bird of LaPlante, SD. Uncles; Helbent Frazier of Tucson AZ, Terry Halfred and Emmett Thompson both of Eagle Butte. Aunts; Verlyn Fasthorse, Arlene Thomspon, Bernie Halfred all of Eagle Butte, Genie Carter of Rapid City SD and Delight Halfred of Red Scaffold SD. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; Frank and Helen Halfred, Mazie Thompson; sisters, Patty Kennedy and Marge Bears Heart. Uncles: Ronnie Halfred, Jumbo Halfred and Willie Frazier. Aunts: Doris Hump, Mary Morgan, Ernestine Frank and Judy Four Bear.
