Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth Claymore, 55 of Selfridge, ND will be Saturday, June 13, 2015 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Fort Yates, ND. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Friday, June 12, 2015 5 PM with a rosary at 7 PM at the church. Kenneth passed away, Monday, June 8, 2015 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.
Kenneth Charles Claymore was born on October 21, 1959 in Fort Yates, ND to Sidney Charles Claymore and Doris (LeCompte) Soiseth.
Ken grew up and went to school in Fort Yates and graduated from Standing Rock Community High School. he attended the North Dakota School of Science in Wahpeton, ND., and received a degree in welding. He later attended heavy equipment training school in Idaho.
Ken worked as a welder at Melroe Manufacturing in Bismarck, N. he also worked on numerous road an construction projects as well as the Prairie Knights Casino.
Ken loved art an would spend many hours sketching, painting, carving, dremal work and making jewelry. He also enjoyed listening to his classic Rock and heavy metal music. He enjoyed watching movies and taking drives in the countryside, especially on snowy days. ken liked to fish and enjoyed football.
Kenny was headstrong and believed in tough love, but he was a kind gentle man, much like his Grandpa Obede LaCompte. He was always there if you needed him. He loved his family, children and grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Kenny is survived by his parents, Charles and Doris Soiseth of Fort Yates, brothers Delano (Bille Black) Claymore of Aberdeen, SD and Scott Jacobson, of Coon Rapids, MN., He is also survived by his long time companion, Marsha Gayton, Selfridge, ND; and daughters; Rebecca Sauer, Ani Berris and Victoria Goebel as well as grandchildren; Shawna and Aaron Sauer. He is also survived by his daughter Samantha Claymore and son Robin Claymore of Bismarck, ND., daughter Cynthia Baker, grandchildren Drake and Amane of Rapid City, SD, his uncles Dean and Delano LeCompte, his nieces and nephews, Jamus Meade, Kansas and Dee Ann DuBray, Margaret Krebs, Richard Lee Claymore, Justin Yellow Fat, and Anya Bear Ghost.
Ken was preceded in death by his father Sidney Claymore, sister Linda (Claymore) DuBray, brothers Sidney, Brent and Dickie Claymore.
