Our precious and beloved Kenneth Zane "Bobcat" Bruguier, Sr. "WaCante Iyokpi" (Glad to see everyone) was born on November 5, 1966, in Eagle Butte, SD, to Velma White Dog and Matthew Bruguier. Kenneth was raised in Green Grass, SD by Marian and Martin Egna in his early childhood. Kenneth stayed with many families during his childhood and teen years.

Kenneth worked cattle and horse for many families and was considered a hard working Ranch hand. In 1986, he began a career in law enforcement, first as a deputy and then a certified Detention officer in 1988. Kenneth worked as a cook for the Vrooman's at the Cheyenne Lounge and also worked for Ron O'Hara at Dairy Queen. This was the beginning of his lasting career as a cook. Kenneth worked for the C-EB School Kitchen for the past 24 years in various capacities. He cooked for funerals, weddings, birthdays and honorings. He also cooked for the CRST Veteran's Association for their Memorial Day activities at the National Cemetery for many years.

Kenneth was so compassionate, caring and generous; always helping adults and children alike. He was forever doings things for people all over the reservation.

Kenneth Sr. married LuAnne Cloud Eagle on September 25, 1987. To this union were born two children, Merri Allyn and Kenneth Zane Jr. Their children were his pride and joy. He was very proud of all their accomplishments and gave them unconditional love and support. He did everything for his children and was an excellent father to them. He provided a home to many children and was a father figure to many, taking them fishing and doing activities for those who needed someone to care. His accomplishments when it came to caring for and helping people are too numerous to mention. He lovingly touched the lives of many. Words can't express how much he will be missed by his family and friends.

Kenneth, Sr. is survived by his children: Merri Allyn (Jordan Stadel) and Kenneth Jr.; his grandchildren, Marty Joseph Scott Stadel, Jordan Wade Stadel and Nation Cowins, who were very dear to his heart and he showered them with love and attention. He is also survived by his adopted daughter, Keri Fischer; adopted son, Warren Ducheneaux, Jr. and his special niece Krysta Guardipee, all of Eagle Butte. His surviving siblings are: Arlen Eugene Bruguier, Merlin Bruguier, Sr., Rhea Bruguier, Alvin Bruguier, Steven Bruguier, Richard Bruguier, Narcisse Bruguier, Ramona Bruguier, Terrance Circle Bear and Stanley Morrison.
