Mass of Christian Burial for Kathy Steinwand, age 65 of St. Paul, MN and formerly of Mobridge will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mobridge. Burial will be in the Mobridge City Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be from 7-9 PM at the funeral home Wednesday. Kathy passed away, Saturday, October 15, 2011 in St. Paul.

Kathryn (Kathy) Theresa Hohl Steinwand was born March 2, 1946 in Mobridge to Joe and Ruth (Nickish) Hohl. Kathy attended elementary and high school in Mobridge, graduating in 1964.

Kathy married Jim Steinwand in 1965 at St Joseph's Church in Mobridge. They lived in Mobridge where Kathy worked as a telephone operator until Jim joined the Air Force, where they served in Minot, ND and Biloxi, MS. After a brief return to Mobridge, they moved to Pierre where they operated Capitol City TV. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1978, then to Roseville, MN in 1984.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Ruth, a brother Joe, and sisters Frances and Betty. Kathy is survived by children Patrick of Denver, CO, Jennifer Beaudet Steinwand of New Brighton, MN and Christine of Columbia, MO. Kathy is survived by 5 grandchildren; Lee Wacek of Fort Myers, FL, and Katie, Cody, Anna and Mary Bethany Beaudet of East Bethel, MN; brother John in Mobridge, sister Ruth (Ted) Anderson of rural Glenham; and nieces and nephews.

Kathy suffered with Multiple Sclerosis almost all of her life, and has spent the last years of her life in care centers in St Paul where she could be close to her daughters.
