Funeral services for Kathleen Steele, 60, of Fort Yates, ND, will be at 11 AM, CT, Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Word of God Ministries Church in Ft. Yates. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Kathleen passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at the Sanford Medical Center of Bismarck, ND.

Kathleen Delores Steele was born on November 28, 1954 in Bullhead, SD, to Sampson and Melda (Crow Ghost) Steele. She grew up in Bullhead and later in life made her home in Ft. Yates where she has since resided. She attended United Tribes Technical College. Kathleen worked for Standing Rock Headstart and Prairie Knights Casino. She married Carl Red Bear Sr. and later was married to Kenneth Standing Crow. She was a very kindhearted woman who lived for her children and grandchildren who meant the world to her.

Kathleen is survived by two sons, Jamie Red Bear of Ft. Yates and Joe Steele of Missouri, three daughters, Larissa (Marcus Jr.) Steele of Ft. Yates, Carleen (Anthony) Red Bear of Porcupine, and Alisha (Steve) Red Bear of Ft. Yates, brother, Duane Steele of Bismarck, grandchildren, Jalen Steele, Marcus Henry Jr., Kaylee Red Bear and Rylin Red Bear, nieces and nephews, Rodney (Claudia) Steele & Family, Terrance (Joleen) Steele & Family, Dustin Steele, Travis (Sally) Steele & Family, Cherish (Ansel Jr.) Steele & Family, Delmer (Dusty) Red Bear & Family, Gayleen (Dennis) Red Horn, Robert (Kylie) Long Feather Jr., Dorian Steele and Chaz Steele and Kids.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Sandra Steele and Patricia Steele, brothers, Terrance Steele Sr. and Robert Steele and grandson, Brendan Miller.
