Rosary service for June LeCompte, age 83, of Eagle Butte will be 11AM, MT, Thursday, August 2, 2012 at All Saints Catholic Church in Eagle Butte. Burial will be in the Mossman Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. June LeCompte, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012 at her home in Eagle Butte.

June was born on October 29, 1929, to Catherine (Claymore) and Cyril LeCompte Sr. She was raised in the Promise Area and later Old Cheyenne Agency. She graduated from St. Paul High School, Marty, SD in 1948 and from there went directly to Chicago, IL where she lived and worked for many years. She returned to Eagle Butte and went to work for the CRST Alcohol Program from November 1987 to May, 2002 when she retired. She met her friend and companion Joe Livermont during this time and they ranched together in Thunder Butte and Armstrong County until his death. June then moved in with her niece and nephew, Leslie and Floyd LeCompte until she purchased her trailer home, where she spent the remainder of her life.

June was a great lover of the canine persuasion and always had several dog companions including "Foxy Lady" who grew old with her and died with her. June was a wonderful cook and loved her church. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her laugh was from the heart. Aunt June never missed a chance to spend time with family and the memories that we carry will be cherished always.

June is survived by her sister, Rita (Jim) Fields and sons, Casey and Jeff of Colorado, and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by: Leslie (Marty) Thompson, Shanon LeCompte and children: Claymore, Kimmie and Chaney John, and Shawna. Myrna (Cheryl) LeCompte and Jade Keckler all of Eagle Butte. Monte LeCompte and Richard LeCompte and families of Rapid City, SD. Jody (Gary) Garrison, Yvette, Zachary, and Samuel Garrison all of Woodbridge, VA. Jackie (Jerry) Black, Shanda Cook, Janessa, Alexandra Black all of Billings, Mt. Marty (Kira) LeCompte, Mason Young, Ashley, Whitley LeCompte of Eagle Butte. Connie (Steve) Wilkie, Stevie-Rae, Wyatte, Zayne and Sydney-Sioux Wilkie all of Billings, MT. and Lynn LeCompte of Eagle Butte.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Cyril; two sister; Velma Cleone LeCompte and Marion LeCompte Powell; five brothers, Cyril Jr., Quentin, Claymore, Narcisse and Gordon LeCompte; three nephews; Floyd, Rocky and Jonnie LeCompte and Special Friend, Joe Livermont.
