Funeral services for Julie Condon age 69 of Eagle Butte, will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 3, 2013 at HV Cultural Center in Eagle Butte. All night wake will begin at 7PM Thursday, family and friends are asked to meet at 4 mile Junction at 4PM. Julie passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge is in charge of arrangements.

Julia Annie Condon was born April 13, 1943 at Pine Ridge Hospital to Clarence Bud Condon, Mnicouji and Esther Between Lodge, Oglala. She attended 1 year along with Keeler, Lavonne and Gerald at Pine Ridge Boarding School before moving north of Cherry Creek in 1949.

Julia worked on and off with the Judicial System for the better part of her life. She served mainly in the Children's court as a Juvenile Judge. She was the Chief Judge for a time; she served as Civil, Criminal and Magistrate Judge as well. She also served as a Lay Advocate for many years. In 1976 she moved to Chamberlain, SD she was hired as a Bilingual Instructor at Saint Joes Indian School. In 1981 she moved to Brookings, SD where she worked at the University as an Administrative Assistance to three Professors. Before she move back to Eagle Butte, SD where she spent the remainder of her life.

Julia was a very generous person she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She always had pets and took very good care of them. She went to Cosmetology School in the late sixty; although she never worked in the field she cut hair for most of the family.

Julia is survived by seven children: Everett (Tammy) Condon, Verzella (Bernie) LaPlante, Verene "Hannah" Condon, Vernice "Lahoma" Condon, Her Hunka Children Floyd Annis, Kay Annis and Carmen Annis. Brothers Harold (Geraldine) Condon, Monte Condon. Sisters: Bonita (Morris Little Shield) Condon, Mary Buck Elk Thunder, Rilla Noisy Hawk and Clarice Condon. Aunt Ellen In The Woods and Uncle Dan Afraid Of Hawk, along with twenty (20) grandchildren and eighteen (18) great grandchildren.

Julia was preceded in death by her father Clarence Bud Condon, her mother Esther Between Lodge Condon Buck Elk Thunder, brothers: Ira, Gerald and Keeler Condon, Kirby Buck Elk Thunder, sisters: Bernice and Lavonne Condon, nephews: Kerwin Condon, Jake and James Hale, nieces: Malisa Hale and Sharon Condon, Granddaughter Ariana Thunder Hawk. Hunka sister Ethel White Eyes and Hunka little brother Delbert Traversie who was very special to her.
