Mass of Christian Burial for Judy Wiest, 87 of Mobridge will be Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mobridge. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. Rosary service will be Friday at 7:30 PM at the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday starting at noon at Kesling Funeral Home. Judy passed away April 20, 2010 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Judy was born June 18, 1922 at Hague, North Dakota to John and Johanna (Mastel) Holzer. She married Hugo Wiest on June 3, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mobridge and from this union they had seven children.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Mobridge.
Judy worked in the Meat Department of the Payless Food Store for 40 years she received the Employee of the Year Award in 2006.
Judy was avid an Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. Whenever one of her kids would call they would have to call back because she was watching the games,
She is survived by her, 2 sons Bill (Hollie) Wiest of Mobridge, South Dakota, Terry (Suzann) Wiest of Tabor, South Dakota, 5 daughters Sharon (Ray) Miklos of Mobridge, South Dakota, Karen Aberle of Avondale, AZ, Fern (Rick) Stanley of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Connie Griffith, and special friend (Howard Bergman) of Mobridge, South Dakota, Bette (Chris) Eckroth of Avondale, AZ. 15 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. seven brothers and sisters; Catherine Holzer, of Mobridge, Tillie Kost of Herreid, SD, Ida Holzer, of Mobridge, SD, Helen (Eddie Reiss) of Bullhead City, AZ, Kasmer (Arlene) Holzer, of Piedmont, SD, Paul Holzer, of Sturgis, SD and Willie (Joan) Holzer of Gillette, WY.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hugo, parents, John and Johana Holzer, step-mother Katherine, special son-in-law Dennis Aberle, five brothers Frank, Valentine, Jake, John Jr., Adam Holzer, three sisters, Ann Lehnert, Elizabeth Fritz, Mary Nelson.
