Memorial services for Judy M. Sackreiter, of Sioux Falls and formerly of New Evarts will be at 10 AM, Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Judy passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Prince of Peace Place in Sioux Falls.
Judy Mae Raugutt was born on January 25, 1943, in Isabel, SD, to Christ Raugutt and Elsie (Bristol) Raugutt. She attended high school in Mobridge through her junior year. She moved to California and graduated from Venice High School in Venice, CA in 1963.
Judy married Dwight Sackreiter on October 20, 1973, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mobridge, SD. They made their home in Aberdeen, SD, until 1984 when they moved to Olathe, KS. They were in Olathe until the early 1990's when they moved to New Evarts, SD. They remained there until 2019 when they moved to Sioux Falls due to health reasons.
Judy loved gardening, canning, traveling, embroidery, spending time with her family, and especially her puppies. She was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and a collector of lighthouses.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mobridge where she was active in the Ladies Aide and while in Sioux Falls attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Throughout Judy's career she was employed by telephone companies out of California and Aberdeen and also worked at Spaulding Auto in Aberdeen and Thrivent. Judy spent 25 years traveling with Dwight working construction for Butler/Blue Scope Construction.
Judy is survived by her husband, Dwight Sackreiter of Sioux Falls, son, Aaron Sackreiter (Marnee Daugherty) of Le Mars, IA, step grandson, Skylar Daughtery of Le Mars, IA, and brother, Roger Raugutt of Key West, FL, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doug and Sadie Sackreiter, several nieces and nephews, and her fur babies, Rocky and Piper.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Christ and Elsie, sisters, Barbara Scholes, Deloris Rieger, Darlene Fried, Caroline Gossman, and Ruby Andreson, brothers, Robert and Chris Raugutt.
In lieu of flowers, per Judy's request, memorials can be directed to any individual church of your choice or favorite charity.
The Memorial Service will be livestreamed and available to watch on the Kesling Funeral Home Facebook page.
