Judy was born in Eagle Butte, SD, to Elmer and Helen (Jewett) Nichols on November 23, 1970. She was raised by her Aunt Greta Takes The Knife in White Horse, SD.
Judy had a carefree spirit "a tomboy" growing up in White Horse with her cousins, riding horses and playing basketball. Judy, along with her 3 cousins, Robbi, Sandy and Shannon, were always together when they were younger getting into mischief or sneaking off riding horse back, walking around, sitting on top of White Horse hill laughing and hollering. She would take care of some of her nieces and nephews and enjoyed watching them.
She loved listening to country music her favorite was George Strait. She always kept herself busy. On February 29, 1988, Judy was blessed with her own daughter: Antoinette Lynn whom she named after her Aunt Greta, she was so happy at being a mother although it didn't slow her down at being a tomboy.
Judy was a hard worker and was always willing to help if asked, she had a kind caring spirit. She helped care for her Aunts Greta, Martha, Jen and her mother Helen, cooking, cleaning for them. She liked to visit and loved to laugh and joke with people her favorite quote "Keep it tight" always made everyone laugh. She was always happy. She never turned anyone away always ready to feed them or give them a place to stay if needed. Judy loved animals she seemed to always have a dog or cat. Judy met Levi Billy Antelope in 1990 they lived in White Horse and for a brief time in Little Eagle where she made many friends especially Sybil who she cared deeply for and adopted as her sister, she later returned to white horse and lived and worked there but always remained friends with Billy until his passing in 2001.
In 2000 she met Everly Blue Hair and they resided in White Horse until the passing of her mother Helen, she then moved to Eagle Butte where she resided until her death.
She loved her grandchildren and was so proud of them, she enjoyed being a grandma. She was proud of her daughter when Annie joined the National Guards. She thought the world of her Aunt Beverly and she was also very close to her niece Sami driving around with her or just hanging out.
So many people can tell you what a big heart Judy had and how helpful and caring she was, she made friends where ever she went. She will be missed by so many people and by her beloved cat "Sister".
