Josh passed away on March 11, 2016, at the Rapid City Hospice with family at his side after battling lymphoma for 2 1/2 years.

Joshua was born on January 19, 1982, in Dickinson, ND, to Daniel and Dorinda (Tillett) Snyder. At the age of 6 weeks, Josh was baptized into the Methodist Church. He attended North Middle School and graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 2000.

Josh had an incredible work ethic from the time he began working at the age of 14. He worked for McDonald's for 2 years and then went to work at Bullet's. Josh also worked as a manager for Subway for 18 months before becoming a real estate agent.

Josh married Sonya Lilya on December 7, 2004, and they had two daughters: Angel and Nikki. He and Sonya lived in England where he was the civilian personnel manager for the dining hall at RAF Mildenhall Air Base. Upon his return from England, Josh was employed by McKie-Buick-GMC before purchasing an ice cream truck and operating Mr. Frosty Ice Cream. He truly enjoyed being around people and his work ethic and smile proved this throughout his lifetime.

On July 13, 2013, Josh married Shayla Gibbons and became a step-father to Ahmya, Malia, and Adonis. He loved being a father and doing things with all of his children.

As a young boy, Josh enjoyed playing catcher with the Rushmore Little League with his biggest fan, his father, as his coach. Josh enjoyed going to the Black Hills Speedway to watch some of his favorites drivers. Josh was a season ticket holder the for the Rapid City Rush Hockey Team and a proud supporter of their booster club. On March 4, 2016, he and his family had the privilege of dropping the puck on the ice to start the game.

Josh is survived by his wife, Shayla; his children, Angel and Nikki Snyder; his step-children Ahmya, Malia, and Adonis Jackson; his parents, Dorinda (Kevin) Sammeli of Piedmont, SD, and Daniel (Tamara) Snyder of Mobridge, SD; his uncles, Vernon (Gloria) Snyder, Larry (Lisa) Snyder, and David Tillett; his aunts, Patricia (Kurt) Ristinen, Brenda Tillett, Tonda (Matt) Meyers; his sisters, Tiffani Sammeli, and Kellyanne Kirkland; his brothers, Jordon (Merya) Sammeli, Casey Sammeli, Ben Kirkland, and Chet Anderson; his grandmothers, Patricia Pipitt, Theresa Wood, and Char Dunlop; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, great-aunts and uncles, nephews, nieces, and friends throughout the world.
