Mass of Christian Burial for John Vander Mark, 64 of Yankton, formally of Timber Lake, will be Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 10:30 AM MT at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Timber Lake. Burial will be at Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge, SD. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. John passed away, Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Wakonda Heritage Manor.

John B. Vander Mark was born on July 17, 1948 in Mobridge to George and Christine (Olson) Vander Mark. John worked hard on the family farm growing up. He also had numerous other jobs throughout his life such as cleaning parks for the Corp of Engineers, making pizza at Pizza Hut, and taking care of the Golf Course at Fox Run. John really enjoyed playing word find. He would spend hours working on them. John was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church.

He is survived by his brother, Robert Vander Mark of Hartington, NE and one niece, Julie Retson.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jeff Vander Mark.
