Mass of Christian Burial for John Reinbold, age 83, of Trail City will be at 10 AM,MT, Friday, September 4, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Trail City. Burial will be at 1 PM Saturday at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be from 2-4 CT, Thursday at the funeral home and starting at 6 PM MT with a prayer service at 7 PM MT at the church. John passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.
John was born on October 9, 1931 to James and Margaret (Schwingler) Reinbold on the family farm near Trail City. It was the same farm that John has lived his entire life at. He attended up until the eighth grade at the Reinbold School.
John entered into the US Army in 1950 and was discharged in 1951. He returned to work on the farm. In 1956 he bought his parents farm. He continued farming until retiring in his late 70's. Farming was his passion throughout the years. John liked to gamble from time to time and was known to occaisionally get lucky. Lately his pride and joy was his Dodge pickup.
John is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Thomas or Spearfish and Delores Maxon of Bismarck, one brother, Jim (Nancy) Reinbold of Wagner, SD, two sisters-in-law, Anna Reinbold of Mobridge and Margie Tillman of Mobridge and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Kay Naescher, Bernadine Thomas, and Margie Kelly, brothers, Francis Reinbold and Wilfred Reinbold, brothers-in-law, Frank Maxon, Ludwig Thomas, Bernard Thomas, Larry Naescher, and Ed Kelly, and a niece, Lynell Kelly.
