Funeral services for John Jordan, 43, of Ft. Yates will be at 11 AM, Friday, October 30, 2026 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ft. Yates. There will be a rosary service at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A procession will meet at causeway junction at 9:45 AM. John passed away Friday, October 23, 2026 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.

John Jake Jordan was born on February 24, 1983, in Poplar, MT, to Leroy Jordan Sr. and Jeanette (Bear King) Jordan. John returned to Standing Rock when he was 4 and grew up on the Standing Rock Reservation. He graduated from Standing Rock High School in 2001. After graduation John went to Sitting Bull College and received an Information Technology Degree. John loved playing video games in his spare time and had two cats, Stormy and Angel, whom he loved very much.

John is survived by his mother, Jeanette Jordan, and his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Leroy Sr., brothers, Grady and Barry, nephews, Colt and Leroy Jr.
