Jimmie P. Krumm was born April 24, 1926 in Trail City, SD to Jacob and Anna (Wolff) Krumm. He attended the Trail City Country School and walked 2 miles everyday carrying the lunch bucket. Jimmie did real well for himself all on a 8th grade education. When his father lost his legs it was up to Pete and Jimmie to help mom run the ranch and raise the family. Jimmie married Arletha Weigum on October 22, 1948 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

He went to work for MDU in 1948 at .59 cent a hour in the power plant shoveling coal from the train cars when they would arrive. There were 3 of them a day, that would have to be unloaded. Jimmie pulled the switch for the last time at the Montana-Dakota Utilities Power plant when the plant closed in 1986 after 38 years of employment. He said "I'll just walk out, close the door behind me and hand the keys to the boss."

Jimmie enjoyed going to the sale barn, meeting his brother Pete, and visiting with all his friends. Jimmie and Arletha bought the ranch west of Mobridge in 1956, he enjoyed the quiet surroundings of the ranch life. He went from working at MDU to the ranch, and wanting to make sure that things were done the right way. There was the right way or Dad's way.

Jimmie is survived by his son Jim (Patty) Krumm of Mobridge, 3 grandchildren, Kim (Joyce) Krumm , of Mobridge, Teresa Krumm of Omaha, NE, Angie (Dwight) Phillips of San Antonio, TX and five great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Pete Krumm and Val Krumm both of Trail City, 3 sisters, Mary Sewer of St. Louis Park, MN, Regina Goldade, of Rapid City, Betty Haar of Watertown.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Arletha April 26, 2010.
