Obituary

Funeral services for Jerry Schulz, age 75, of Mobridge, will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2011, Trinity Lutheran Church, Mobridge. Burial will be at a later date under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation, 2 to 7PM on Friday Prayer service at 7 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Mr. Schulz passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Jerry was born September 6, 1935 at Eaton, CO to Edward and Christina (Schlaht) Schulz. He moved to McLaughlin with his family in 1935. He was baptized on Oct. 30, 1935 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church on McLaughlin. He attended school in McLaughlin and graduated from McLaughlin High School in 1953.

He married Eunice Pleinis on April 18, 1958 in McLaughlin, after their marriage they moved to Mobridge. Jerry worked as a custom harvester for 2 years working at Loma, Montana.
He had numerous jobs working at Gambles, Culligan, Davidson Chevrolet, Jensen Chevrolet, and Valley Motors.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Eunice Schulz of Mobridge, two daughters Lynette Schulz of Mobridge, Brenda (Mark) Wells of Clarksville, IN, 2 grandchildren Matthew McNeil, Mindy McNeil and great-granddaughter Calli McNeil all of Clarksville, IN, sisters; Mavis (Pete) McPhee of Mobridge, Marlene Merkel, Carol (Tom) O'Connell all of Mobridge, Donna (Roger) Ivers of Sturgis, Glenda Johnson of Scottsville, KY, brother Vernon (Ruth) Schulz of Murray, KY, brothers and sisters-in-law Fernetta Adam of Twin Falls, ID, Marvin (Janet) Pleinis of McLaughlin, Margaret Kirschenmann of Pierre, Collien McGarry of The Colony, TX, Harlen (Genevieve) Pleinis, of Mandan, ND, June (Earl) Martell of Aberdeen, Sharon (Brian) Beason of Fargo, Diana (Ron) Cooley of Watertown, Vivian Dietrich of Mobridge, Roland (Evelyn) Pleinis of Mobridge, Larry (Geraldine) Pleinis of Mobridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Myren Pleinis.
