Jerome passed away Sunday November 2, 2014 at Fort Meade Veterans Medical Center.

Jerome was born March 15, 1925 in Pierre SD to Wendelin and Barbara(Marquardt) Dosch. His long and full life is a true testament to the sanctity of human life, since he was still born and declared dead by the doctor at time of birth. After the doctor had left the delivery room, the nurses did not give up and revived him. He was brought home in a shoebox and was kept warm on the open door of the kitchen wood stove.

His early childhood was spent on the original homestead, 9 miles south of Eagle Butte SD. When he was 7, the family moved to a location 2 miles southwest of Parade SD. He attended elementary school in Parade and graduated from Eagle Butte High School in 1944. After High School, he farmed and ranched with his dad and brothers on the family farm.

In 1947, he attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and received a certificate in Electrical Repair, an education he used both on the farm and in his electrical wiring and television repair businesses. In 1952, the family farm was moved to the present location east of Eagle Butte.

In February, 1951, Jerome was drafted into the Korean conflict. He served 11 months in Korea with the 92nd Engineer Searchlight Company as a maintenance chief. He was awarded the Korean Service Ribbon, the United Nations Service Ribbon, and was released from active duty in 1952 as an Army Corporal.

He owned and operated the Lyric Theater in McIntosh SD from 1953 to 1957.
Until August of this year, he continued to make his home on the family farm, farming and ranching side by side with his late brother Pius, who passed away in May, 2013. They were known in the area as the Dosch Bros., and worked together in many endeavors from farming and ranching, to well drilling and television repair. Jerome could weld and fabricate anything that was needed for the farm and later in life, he and Pius spent many "retirement" days rebuilding stationary gas engines.

Jerome is survived by his brothers, Albinus (Dupree, SD,), Victor (Margate City, NJ) and sister Anna Heier (Ipswich, SD), 9 nephews, 4 nieces and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Raymond and Pius and niece Kathy.
Casket Bearers are Eric Heier, Justin Heier, Cory Dosch, Tyler Dosch, Troy Vrooman and Francis "Red" Traversie

Burial will be at the All Saints Catholic Cemetery alongside his parents and brother Pius.
