A celebration of life for Jeanne Marie (Hand) Marcault will be held in the Spring of 2024. She passed away at the Mobridge Regional Hospital on December 15, 2023, in the presence of loved ones.

Jeanne Marie Hand was born on July 24, 1956, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital to Ellen and Richard Hand. While spending the first 14 years in Mobridge, she attended High School at Harmony Hill, in Watertown, SD. It was in this time frame that she was able to go to Mexico on spring break with another family. She often spoke of how amazing it was and she learned so many things about the Mexican culture and how she wanted to go back again someday. With her school days now behind, she began an amazing journey and traveled to many states. She also attended the Culinary School of Arts in Las Vegas, NM.

Her journeys included California, where she first saw the ocean and talked about the vastness and how magnificent it was. Then made her way to Alaska, Florida, Colorado, Arizona, Nebraska, The Dakotas then finally to Taos, NM before returning to her birthplace of Mobridge in 2016. There, she enjoyed renewing her friendship with her lifelong friend, Kat Talamantes (Pringle) and had the pleasure of meeting new friends while residing at the River Ridge Apartments.

She loved music, cooking, animals, all forms of horticulture and was an avid reader. She loved her home and was generous to all her neighbors at the River Ridge Apartments.

She is survived by her lifelong friend Kat Talamantes, her sister Pat Kvamme of Windsor, CO, her brother Jim of Mobridge, and her brother Mike. She is also survived by her nephews Nate Kvamme, Eric Hand, Adam Hand, James and Patrick Hand and their mother, Charlotte Hand.

She is predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law, Morris Kvamme.
