JC was born to Cindy Marshall and John Garreaux in Aberdeen on November 6, 1988 at 4:56 p.m. weighing 8lbs 1oz, 21 1/4 inches long. He attended school at Eagle Butte, Tiospaye Topa, Dupree, Pierre Indian Learning Center. JC was involved in football, basketball, wrestling, boxing, drum group, and 4-H rodeo where he earned numerous trophies, ribbons, metals and buckles. He was always very active and loved to do wood working and building things for his sister and brother to make them happy.
JC was a hard worker and did mowing, fencing, ranch work, breaking and riding horses, lambing or just helping others when they needed it. He loved the outdoors and adventures.

He later attended Kicking Horse Job Corp in Montana where he studied building maintenance and landscaping. This is where he met Phenia Martinez and his 1st daughter Aliona Garreaux was born on Sept. of 2006. He then moved to Pueblo, CO for about 6 months then upon returning home he worked in Eagle Butte helping construct the Medicine Wheel Village. Then he moved to Pierre and worked at Christenson Farms and Jake's Steakhouse and, in July of 2008 his 2nd daughter Ariona Garreaux was born. He moved back home and continued to work construction either as a flagger and driving the packer until construction on the new I.H.S. housing started where he obtained his apprentice electric license.

He since then has resided in Pierre/Ft. Thompson area where he and his special friend Kelsey Howe shared a home as JC loved to cook and bake as his mom taught him well.
He also loved to work on cars testing his mechanic skills and fishing up a storm on the Oahe Dam and the Missouri River. He was an excellent fisherman as he loved to fish and hunt with his family and friends.

JC loved to travel and be his own boss as living in the moment and seeing, meeting new friends was always a gift for him. His many talents and creative mind always kept him going. He loved adventure and wasn't afraid of anything. JC was a very caring and loving son, brother and dad. He loved his 2 beautiful daughters Aliona and Ariona, but never got to see them much but treasured them when he did. He had a big heart, big ideas and a big mind set on freedom. He was never too serious, but cared when it mattered the most. He always put others first and lived the simple life.
He will be greatly missed for his loud hilarious laugh and big bright smile that loved to joke around and tease especially his family.
